Sien is currently in her third year of the bachelor’s program in International Organization and Management (IOM) at Artevelde University of Applied Sciences. Her educational journey began in a creatively hands-on way—she studied Architecture and Visual Arts in high school before specializing in Interior Architecture.
While she was once heavily involved in dance and competitive gymnastics, her hobbies today are a little more relaxed: you’ll often find her playing with her cats, binge-watching a great series, or sketching when inspiration strikes.
Can you tell us a bit about your responsibilities?
I support the marketing team with content creation, social media management, putting together the newsletter, wordpress, mailchimp, and assisting wherever I can. For example at demo days, events or tradeshows or with printing materials.
What’s the best thing about your job?
I love being able to apply what I’ve learned in school to real projects. It’s rewarding to expand my knowledge and see my work make a tangible impact.
What are the biggest challenges in your work?
Since this is my first marketing role, my main challenge is building confidence and making sure everything I deliver meets the team’s high standards.
Which things are on your bucket list – what do you absolutely want to have done?
On a professional level, my goal is to build a career as a skilled content marketer—someone known for bringing fresh, creative ideas to life.
When it comes to personal passions, I have a deep love for languages. I’m fluent in Dutch and English, and I’m actively learning Chinese, Spanish, French, and I’ve recently started studying Indonesian! This interest in languages naturally fuels my curiosity for different cultures. And what better way to explore those cultures than by traveling? I love discovering new places and connecting with people around the world.
What do you do in your free time?
When I’m not studying or working, I’m usually in the kitchen cooking or baking. I also love gaming and getting lost in a classic novel—Wuthering Heights and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter are next on my reading list!
