EPS Technical Project Engineer in Leuven
Essensium is an expanding product development company that designs, produces, sells and provides service for Essensium real time Positioning System for forklifts (EPS), based on computer vision & AI technology (SafeTrack TM). We are looking for a Field service engineer or a Technical Project Engineer to deploy our product line at customers in Belgium. This function offers a broad and interesting view on our state-of-the-art products and will allow you to grow in responsibilities over the coming years.
- Location: you live close to Leuven or Brussels and you can easily travel to customers’ sites in the area
- Hybrid/remote: you will travel to customers sites 3 days/week and work from office approximately 2 days/week.
- Languages: English are a must, Dutch or/and French are very appreciated
- Education: degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering
Skills
- You already have 3+ years of experience in a technical role (as a pre- or post sales engineer, project engineer, field service engineer, etc)
- Nice to have: professional background in the material handling space (warehouses, supply chain, forklifts, automated guided vehicles) or in computer vision
- You have experience in client-facing roles
- You are interested in electronics, RF technology, computer vision, positioning systems, safety applications
- You can work autonomously without micro-management
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Work systematically and accurately
- Flexible and hands-on
- You can prioritize and manage several open issues
- You have excellent communication skills and communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
- English, Dutch and/or French
- You have a driver’s license
- Some experience with Linux and Python is a plus but not a must.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the installation & bring-up of EPS installations at customer sites, guide our clients’ engineers during the installations
- Provide 1st line support to customers
- While most configuration and monitoring can happen via a remote link, the role does require regular travel to the customer sites
- Provide technical commercial support -> You can take charge of demos at customers and tradeshows. Moreover, you assist the sales team with presentations, documentation and customer requests.
- Interact with customers, external partners and internal teams.
- Build up an expert knowledge of our products
- Collect customer feedback to improve our products.
Working environment
You’ll be working independently visiting our clients’ sites, in collaboration with the technical team at the headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. Presence at our office in Heverlee is expected 2 days per week, also for onboarding, trainings and for team meetings.
