Meet Abdesslam, Technical Expert with a Strong Background in Electronics and Mechanics. Abdesslam holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Mechanics from the University of Valenciennes, located in the north of France where he also grew up. After completing his studies, he moved to Paris, where he lived for 20 years and built his professional career.

He began working in a design office and then as a Technical Trainer first for Schindler Elevators and then at Fenwick-Linde Handling, focusing on material handling systems and technician education. He then advanced to a role as a Technical Support Engineer.

Now, Abdesslam joined our team, where he continues to expand his knowledge in industrial innovation and smart safety systems. It was through a colleague that he was introduced to Luc and Boris, whom he met at Préventica Lyon, a meeting that marked the beginning of a promising collaboration.

Abdesslam combines a strong academic foundation with hands-on technical experience, making him a valuable asset to any team he joins.

Can you tell us a bit about your responsibilities?

As the newest Project Engineer based in France, I’m responsible for overseeing the technical deployment of our solutions in the French market. This includes installing and validating our products on forklifts, as well as configuring specific monitors and related components to ensure everything functions seamlessly.

I also serve as a key technical point of contact for customers, supporting them directly if any issues arise and ensuring they receive the right guidance and solutions.

What makes the role especially rewarding is the strong collaboration within our team. Even though I’m based in France, I receive continuous support from colleagues in Belgium, which creates a dynamic and solution-oriented environment.

What’s the best thing about your job?

What I enjoy most is the direct interaction with customers, being able to support them closely and see the real impact of our solutions on their operations. Working with innovative technology is also a big motivator. With a background in forklifts, it’s refreshing to now work on more cutting-edge and innovative technologies.

And of course, I really value the team spirit. The collaboration and support from colleagues make the work both effective and enjoyable.

What are the biggest challenges in your work?

One of the main challenges is keeping my technical knowledge up to date. Since our product is constantly evolving, it’s essential to stay informed about the latest updates and improvements. That way, I can provide accurate support and guidance to our customers and ensure they get the most out of the solution.

Which things are on your bucket list – what do you absolutely want to have done?

Personally, I’m passionate about traveling and discovering new cultures. My goal is to visit every continent. I’ve already been to: Africa (including La Réunion, a small island near Madagascar with beautiful nature), Asia, and Europe. Next up: America! I try to plan at least one trip each year to keep exploring the world.

Professionally, my short-term goal is to become fully autonomous in my role. Looking a bit further ahead, in the next couple of years, I’d like to take on more responsibility for the technical side of our operations in France, becoming a key reference point for local technical matters.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy walking and I often visit my parents who are becoming old, who live nearby. It’s always good to stay connected to home.
