Our Shareholders

Essensium is proud to be able to count on several solid shareholders. Besides its own management, we can count on several leading investors that have built up a substantial expertise in the high-tech industry including Pamica from serial entrepreneur Michel Akkermans. He is a proven pioneer in new financial technology dynamics and holds a number of board positions and is an active investor in several companies and private equity organizations.

Our other shareholder is former headmaster of the University of Louvain, Baron André Oosterlinck. Oosterlinck headed the KU Leuven for 10 years. Throughout his rectorship, he paid great attention to stimulating spin-offs and on building networks with other research institutions, such as IMEC often joining the Board of Directors of these high tech spin-offs. Currently he is honorary rector of the University.

Our shareholder Johan Danneels obtained his PhD with the development of an integrated solid state switch. He can look back at a rich career spanning 25 years in various functions in the telecom industry at different multinationals. He was CEO of Alcatel Microelectronics preparing the company for a sale to STMicroelectronics where he was appointed VP telecom.  Johan co-founded Essensium in 2005 and has been a shareholder ever since.
